Paul George will become the latest Nike Basketball signature athlete with the release of his first signature shoe, the PG1. Nike unveiled the model on Monday via the “2K” colorway seen here that references his love of gaming and his appearance on the cover of NBA 2K17.
The low-cut PG1, designed by Tony Hardman, features a forefoot strap, Flywire cable, and forefoot Zoom Air cushioning. The shoe also has fish scale paneling and a bobber-inspired lacelock referencing George’s love of fishing.
The Nike PG1 will be the most affordable signature Nike Basketball shoe on the market while still retaining some of the high-end technology the brand offers. For performance, we have a forefoot strap along with Flywire. Zoom Air is added in the forefoot along with a full-bootie construction is added. The last detail is a multidirectional scale-inspired blade outsole which provides ample traction.
